Hi I have a wooden workshop/shed 10'X12' that's in a very exposed location. The roofing felt blew off during it's first winter and for the last 2 months has an emergency tarpaulin keeping the contents dry. Can I use roofing felt adhesive on the T&G boards making up the roof so the felt is held down everywhere? Would you also use clout nails? SF's felt adhesive says nothing about use on wood http://tinyurl.com/6ppc4s Any help appreciated
Or would I be better with something more heavy duty? http://tinyurl.com/6ypff6 I'm open to any suggestions (to do with shed roofs)
Try B&Q Roofing Felt Adhesive 2.5L perfect for fixing roofing felts to concrete, metal, plywood and OSB 3 board. Can be applied cold without the need of hot bitumen or flames. Gives total bonding of roofing felts .
you could use the felt with an adhesive backing already applied, you put on a couple of layers of the base felt and then one layer of mineral felt, you heat the adhesive side of the felt as you unroll it. this would stay on through all winds/weathers. this is what ive used many times on extensions, garages etc. in my opinion its as good as the old style felt and hot bitchumen pot that i thankfully no longer use.
