With a pitched roof adjoining a rendered wall, should the top edge of the lead be "stepped" (like it would be with a brick facing) or be turned into the rendered wall parallel to the roof pitch?

I've seen it done both ways but the parallel method looks pants. Is there any difference in performance?

    Thanks.

What tiles have been used, i.e single plain tiles, or double lap tile (large concrete)?

  3. Straight cut in render.
    Stepped in brick.
