Hello All I will shortly be fitting my kitchen cabinets, my first attempt at doing so. We will be having a u shaped kitchen, two sides fixed to a wall, the other exposed at the rear. I take it the best way to secure the exposed side is to drill through the legs into the floor, or is there some other preferred method, maybe timber batons (themselves fixed to the floor) running on the inside of the legs, to stop any lateral movement of the cabinets. Any advice appreciated. Steve
As long as all the other cabs are fixed to the walls and each other, the worktops bolted together and screwed to the cabs. There is no need to do anything with the "floating" side, it won't move at all.
If it feels a bit "wobbly" on the peninsular bit after the tops are on, squirt a little expanding foam around the feet. Stops the legs winding down or wiggling about.
