need a new boiler £700 to £1000 range, with atleast 7 years warranty or higher, Been looking at Baxi , Potterton and Ideal, your views please. according to Which? reviews they score in the 50 to 60% mark, with Bosch, Vaillant & Vesissman at the top end over 80%. However after having repairs done to Bosch and Vaillant, engineers have prefered Baxi or potterton, probably same manufacturer. it seems each company resorts to a phase of producing **** and losing customers and then making them properly, all of them seem to go through the same cycle every few years. so the Brand name means absolutely nothing. Vokera made ddecent boilers and now produce ****. had a vokera when it was one of the best and ran for 10 years with no problems.
Had various Vaillant boilers over the last 25 years or so,never had one break down,my currrent 824 is close to 11 years old, only had a new heat exchanger in all that time.
As above - Vaillant - also Worcester Bosch, and look at Intergas which are British made and are designed to be simple with minimal components, hence less to go wrong.
If you’re planning on using more then one hot water outlet at a time you’re going to struggle with a Combi. Have you thought about heat only boiler with an unvented cylinder? There are some combis available that can have a store of hot water in them like the Vaillant 938 which provide a better flow rate but you’ll be looking at best part of £1800 for boiler alone
+1 for Vaillant combis. Had 3 of them. All reliable. Had problems with Worcester and Potterton in properties (maybe just unlucky)
