Manhole/Drain cover

    I am trying to shift a manhole cover from side of house and both of the handles are broken.Is there any way they could be mended ? where would be the best place to get replacement covers from-its larger than what ive seen in diy stores and weighs a ton !!

    Nope they are usually cast in situ..

    And they come complete with a frame, rarely can you get the cover seperatly.

    thanks -Is it just concrete then-how are the handles attached?

    The handlles,plus metal reinforcement are put in place in the mould, & concrete fills the mould, so as above handles are cast in situ.

    If the handle surrounds are steel you might be able to weld in new pieces of steel as handles.
