Good afternoon, all looking for some advice! Now living in the Colchester, Essex area as I've recently just moved across the country and the building merchants that I used where I was living does not have a branch anywhere near. From internet searches Travis Perkins seems to be coming out on top, does anyone have any experience? (I thought that you had to put some real serious volume through them to get anything worth while). Looking to use them for general building items, 2x4 and 2x6 CLS and C25 (I do a lot of timber frame extensions) OSB and Ply, Plasterboard, skim, dot adh. Block work and lintles etc Or perhaps does anyone maybe have some local advice in the Colchester area? I am always willing to support the local firms if I can build a good relationship. Cheers in advance!
I can only suggest you search for timber merchants and the like, often cheaper, better service and better quality.
Hi, I'm also in Colchester, Stanway area. I would highly recommend you pay a visit to Daddyoaker Timber, very very well reviewed independent yard. Take the time to find it on your first trip as his yard is tucked away. (Map on the site) https://daddyoaker.co.uk/index.html?utm_source=yell&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=yell
