I am looking to board out my loft for general storage needs.

Some advise would be helpful. I'm looking for a very cost effective solution (cheapest) as the will eventually be properly converted. I only need to board out to allow for storage for the next 2-3years.

I'm looking to avoid the need for Loft Legs and fix boards directly to the joists. I will have some insulation between the joists but only to 100mm. I am then considering installing the existing insulation to the rood rafters using netting to hold in place. The only concern I have is my roof has no felt/ membrane before the tiles. most of the mortar used back in the day has fallen off.

Some advise on how best to install insulation to rafters would be helpful. Especially with no felt/membrane in place.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi, maybe worth looking at insulated board. More costly than ordinary plasterboard, but much less faff to install than insulation in netting then boards.
