What product is best for ceiling hairline cracks

    Hi can anyone help recommend the best option for ceiling hairline cracks like in the picture.

    I use Polycell crack-free. Ridiculously thick but that’s probably why it works so well.

    Btw you wouldn’t suggest a filler instead? Just saw the price on this stuff. I was thinking using the right filler then paint over

    Push the ceiling boards either side of the cracks, at several places along the length - any movement in the boards ?

    If yes - then that’s the first step to fix

    No movement, would it need a filler ? If so which is best?

    Even if they’re a board join they’re too fine to need filling. If you really want to you can but you’ll need to make them worse first. Cut a V following the crack. Then fill using Toupret. It’s also expensive. Waste of time though. Just use the Polycell. Cheaper than doing it twice when it cracks again, which it will. If you have loads to do then just paint the cracks and a good few inches either side and then paint over it with a quality matt white ceiling paint.
