I need to fence off a site due to it being dangerous. (I'm not a builder).

The fencing will be up possibly around 6-8 months.

Is it common practice to hire it or buy it and then sell it on afterwards? Isn't the cost of hiring it over that long of a period more than the cost to actually buy it?

I'm in the leeds area if anyone can recommend a place to get some.

You could negotiate a good rental price for that period but it's often cheaper to buy and then sell afterwards. Why not buy secondhand yourself. Secondhand fencing in good condition will always be saleable so you could buy it, use it for 8 months, then sell it again for the same (or similar)price.

    Total rental cost = nil.
