Hi all. Currently have a job on the go with the 'i' beam/joists installed at first floor level, with some sheets of ply to temporarily deck it out. Will rain have a negative effect on them? The web of the beam is fibreboard, but i would have thought it would have been treated/waterproofed.? Thanks.

Why not use the Norbord Caberfix system??

This is 22mm chipboard flooring with a waterproof peel-off layer, waterproof adhesive and waterproof tape - boards are glued down and together, (perimeter nailed/screwed), and then upper joints taped to fully waterproof.

This system, (and similar by other chipboard manufacturers), is approved and preferred by Finn Forest and suitable for use with other manufacturers I-joist systems. (Travis keep stock).

You then have the finished floor AND a safe working platform.
