We all know when converting a vented system to combi there is a risk of the existing pipes failing due to higher pressure. Ive found if you inform the customer of this possibility when quoting the job it often puts them off the idea completely but if you dont, and it leaks, the customer is going to be less than amused. Does anyone have any advice as to how to cover ones own *** without scarring the customer off?

weasley words in small print are a waste of time. If it lets go and black sludge sprays everywhere it's still your problem.

Do a site survey, if the pipework looks old and scrappy then quote for a full re-pipe.
