New mains supply

    Hi all.
I had a new water supply installed by a builder into a house I have been long term renovating. Water supply was a favour for letting him use/cross land etc.

This was some time ago, but I found myself at the satge where I needed some running water, so went to the stop cock to turn it on.

The main inspection pit has a manifold with 6 supplies on it. I tried turning the one on that was the only one in a different position to all the rest, but nothing happened.

I assume, that even though I have a new supply, it hasn't been 'enabled'?

    Of the 6 outlets,
There are 5 properties, 2 of which were newly built by said builder,
3 remaining including mine, and one proposed build that never went ahead in the end.

There are 2 meters on the manifold (assuming new build), and where the meters would attach, on 2 there are reddish 'caps', and on the other 2 they are opaque/white.

Is that a way of isolating/disconnecting water by water authority?

Is there an easy way of doing this without costing a fortune causing a fuss? Any ideas?

    Kind regards

I knew that by writing a long and descriptive question I'd be met with the obvious stupid answer (wetnec).

It will remind me that if you ever need advice I might say something as equally wetneccish.

Anyway, I did ask if it was water authority, or something I could do myself. So guess I'll phone the water authority up!

Why dont you (neccish) google gullible. Did you know its not a real word in the English language?

    That is all.
