Been asked to install downlighters in a suspended grid ceiling. Is there any restrictions for installing halogens MR11 lighting or will these be to hot, if so whats the recommenced downlighter to install

They'll be fit once lights - 'cos you won't be able to pull them out of the tiles without effing up the edges.

I guess money is the factor directing this fit, because there are plenty of nice modular options out there, but at a cost...

its a bar, they have requested several 600 x 600 modular fittings and 8 downlighters over the optics

    Just do it then mate.

Just make sure you fling (sorry - correctly fix) any cables out of the way from any heat sources.

Well fixed rock roses are nice for anyone that comes along later, as well.

In these instances we cut some 4/6mm ply the same size as the tiles and spray glue straight on, then drill ya hole.

If the light needs to be pulled out in future then this avoids ferkin up the tile.

However being a suspended ceiling ****** access can be gained from the adjacent tile so light removal shouldn't happen untill full replacement is required.

Yep agree with Sinewave apart from the glueing part, never done that before.

usually cut the wood 595mmx595mm if it's for a 600x600 ceiling grid

    ;)
