Morning all,
I have a reoccurring issue with a customer and their utility room.
They have one LED down light in the whole room rated at 7w and they want to dim it. Every dimmer module we have tried still gives a flicker when dimming to the lower levels, we have tried changing the light also...
Can anyone help, please? Looking to source some recessed LED stair lights to fix to a bare concrete wall in an outbuilding. Need to be thin enough that I can then render/plaster the wall and end up with the lights flush. So ideally 10mm or so deep.
Not keen on anything that has to be fitted...
Two out of 3 Luceco Slimline Guardian 15W LED PIR floodlights only lasted a little over two years before failing, so I'm in the market for something a bit more reliable. The location means they are completely exposed to the elements so I'm thinking maybe the issue was water ingress? For both of...
I put a led bayonet bulb in pir lantern (4 years old) and it just stays on. I think it's the bulb not pulling enough power. Is this a known thing and I need a new light as don't have any old bulbs now?
Thanks
Hi,
I want to upgrade the existing LED tape in my kitchen to some that are a warmer light and dimmable. I've bought some new dimmable tape along with receiver unit in order to control light brightness/colour with remote control.
I was hoping to install the receiver after the existing driver -...
Looking for dimable LED lights for my new build. Thing to do now seems to be to use units with bulb integrated in the fitting, rather than a separate fitting with replaceable bulb.
My experience of LED GU10 reliability has not been a good one, old halogens way outlasting LED's
I can't decide...
There is a 12V (max 50W) halogen spotlight which is just above a tumble drier. I need to replace this light with a light which has an ingress protection of at least 44 (IP44) and above. The existing light fitting is GU 5.3 (2 pin). I would like to replace this spotlight with a 240V LED light...
Hi Everyone, This is my first post on the forum and hope someone can help.
I have some G4 LED lamps, capsule type, which I want to use on a standard lamp that used G4 Halogen bulbs until the reostat dimmer failed.
I bought these G4's more than a year ago but can't find the original bill of...
Hi, looking for some advice. I'm not an electrician but i have soldered a few times before. Those were easy simple things with easy instructions. Im looking to connect some led strips to garden solar panels. I have tried buying ones already connected but the colour temperature was wrong and i...
Hi guys,
I am trying to install a chandelier type light. It has 45 bulbs which are 2W dimmable LEDs. I need a transformer. I have read I need one that can handle more than the total watts (45 x 2W) so need one greater than 90W. Is this one going to be suitable...
I have recently changed over to 6W LED fittings in my bathroom. They are fed from a junction box that has the incoming feed, outgoing feed to bedroom light, fan isolator and bathroom pull cord switch.
When switching on the bedroom light the bathroom LED's come on very dim and I'm getting a...
I recently boarded up my ceiling and fitted rockwool insulation. The wiring was clipped to side of joists mostly but in other parts ran above or through the insulation wool where there wasn't enough slack.
It is powering 6 LED spotlights in my room and a centre pendant light. Will the...
Hi, need some advice on a project I am planning.
I want to replace the existing pendant light in a small office to LED downlighting hidden behind coving.
My plan is to have the LEDs connected to the light switch in the room.
This is my novice current plan - let me know if I'm way off and...
I have two rows of spotlight on either side of room and pendant light in middle, all controlled by a 3 dimmer switch.
Right side appears a lot dimmer than left side.
Is this possible due to wiring or other factor or just an illusion? Otherwise everything seems to be working and all the bulbs...
Hi after a bit of advice please....
I want to spur off the kitchen ring for a double socket under the kitchen worktop. I'll be plugging in a 12v PSU which feeds led strip lights.
The LED lights can be controlled using an IR remote control however it is a bit hit and miss.
What I'd like to do is...
I have a dimmable LED that begins to buzz after about 30 minutes of being on, is this simply because it has warmed up or something wrong?
Can anyone recommend a solution or a good quality bulb that doesn't buzz?
I'm after a stairs led strip which activates when someone goes by.
Loads of those about, but ideally I want one which has a pir sensor at the top and bottom.
It shouldn't be that hard, I haven't looked in depth but hoping someone knows of one? I've seen a couple which use a power supply both...
I wonder if an electrician can help settle my nerves on this one.
I have a 24V zigbee LED controller (double insulated, no earth) wired into the lighting circuit in the kitchen and it is powering three 24V LED downlights under the kitchen cabinets.
I’ve triple checked all the wiring and it’s...
Hi, I was hoping someone could help me, what do I need to buy to replace the entire light fitting for this floodlight?
Ideally, I wanted an led replacement which fits on the same way so I don't need to drill new holes or anything, and I can just wire it up. When I search, I can only find...
Hi, thanks for reading this. I’m after a bit of advice...
Have just built a new garden store in the garden, including a log store on one external wall. I’d like to install a light in the store, and also an LED strip to down light the log store (only cos I think it’ll look cool).
Obvs would...
