How best to roughen the edges of natural stone slabs that have been cut using a cut off saw

When I lay natural stone slabs, if I cut the slabs, I use a chisel to chip the cut edge to make it rougher rather than clean and straight. Whilst this does work, I feel there must be a better way of doing this. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better way to achieve a rougher edge?

Is sharp sand suitable for mortar when laying a sandstone patio

Hi all, I am wondering whether using sharp sand rather than soft sand is suitable for laying a sandstone patio, or any patio for that matter. Whilst a sharp sand mortar isn't buttery like a soft sand mortar, it is none the less strong and seems to bind well. A sharp sand mortar is also coarser...
