Hi guys, I have 2 lengths of buried conduit containing swa and external waterproof data cable. There are no drain holes in the conduit so it's liable to fill up with water. This shouldn't affect the cable but won't look great. Is it ok to blob some sealant in the ends? Or does it have to be...
HI guys - recently installed a new shower with 2 tiled walls over tanked hardiebacker stud walls.
Getting a bit of trouble with water egress to both corners, I've reapplied the sealant around the tray and fairly confident it's not that. I've noticed the grout lines between the tiles go very...

Devon stone house, concrete rendered on outside . Plaster fell off inside of an external wall so I took the rest off. The last bit also came off back to the stone I think. However it is black (bitumen?). Can I vandex or other waterproof over the black stuff?
Any advice gratefully received

Hi All,

Hi All,
Hope you can help.
I am just wondering whether I should backer-board the concrete block bench in my wet room, applying it with a tile adhesive. Or can I tile directly on top of the concrete block work?
I worry about moisture or cracks within the concrete block/to tile directly on...
Paranoia warning ahead!
I've taken up the decking in my back garden and there is a black fibrous membrane underneath. The decking was put down about 15 years ago (I believe - I've not been in the house that long) so I can't believe that there would be any asbestos in the membrane but thought...

Hi all
I'm a so so DIYer and need help with where to go next with a job. We have ripped out an old showertray and old tiles and had a plumber fit a new tray. The old one was too big for the space so cut into the wall on all 3 sides. New one we bought was same size with view to put back in and...
I have just installed primed mdf cladding in the bathroom with grab adhesive. On the side there is a gap visible where the wall wasn’t entirely flat. How can I fill this gap. It needs to be waterproof as it’s close to the bath.
Also which paint/type will give the best water resistant finish...
I have built a thick retaining wall to replace a thinner one. The ground level is about 1m, but I have built it taller to block my neighbour as well.
Suddenly, after 40 years of no water coming through the THIN wall, a vast amount of water is coming through at just one point. It is about 2000...

Hi all. Thanks for looking at this. Right off the bat ... I'm not a sparky, but I'm hiring one! (That should stop the "you need a sparky, mate" comments).
I'm installing outdoor LED lighting over my garden which is ~80m long. It will be a radial standalone circuit on an RCD. I've properly...

Apologies if this topic has been covered already, but couldn't find anything on it.
I'm tiling a bathroom and have a couple of recessed shelves on the wall next to the bath/shower, which will be tiled. I was planning to use metal tile edging on the edges of the shelves, as the porcelain tiles I...
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice / point me towards a suitable product? The back wall of my shed (brick construction and some of the inside has a thin concrete covering) acts as a retaining wall to my garden. I get groundwater , approx. 1m below the garden...
