Hello, First post here, so please bear with... I'm looking to get 50m2 of stone floor laid in DE72 postcode. Not really sure of costs for both the stone and the laying. Any help gratefully received Cheers
I have a pile of stones outside my house. I'll lay them on your floor for now't. Or, to put it another way, more info please. What type of 'stone' and on what type of floor? (Not that I'll be able to answer you anyways. Except with a sarcy remark...)
Thanks for that devils advocate :/ The choice of stone would depend on cost so..... Ideally it'd be rustic as its to go in a Victorian cottage.
You're welcome Is the existing floor solid - concrete - or a suspended timber floor (floorboards)? Can you find some samples of the type you'd like, perhaps from a few different price ranges?
I have a fryend dicey who I feel would be able to answer all your questions on this subject His name is phil the paver, a very experienced man! Unfortunately he is on holiday but he does still pop in when the wife is busy He may be along later. In the mean time dev is an excellent choice of tutor and also gives quality advice. Rustic??? Good choice Your post is fine where it is it will be seen by all the right people.
Touchy this evening miss pickle thought you were my fryend! Got any pics yet of the stenciling projects?
Yes but not ones that you are gonna be seeing anytime soon lol. Yeah bit touchy, just found out today my nan has gone to ry land. 92 though! Not a bad innings. Doubt I'd be much company tonight. Back next week and fighting though no doubt Off to watch a film. My other form of escape Have a good weekend x
Have you got enough head room to fit the new floor over the old. Has the old floor got any form of insulation/DPM beneath it. Is the 50M2 in one area, or different rooms. Is the area all straight walls, or is it in and out of alcoves, fire places etc. Are existing floor nice and level. So many things to think about before offering a price, but expect anything from £80.00M2 through to maybe £200.00M2, supply and lay, depending on slabs/tiles and type of finish required, ie: butt jointed or pointed joints.
