Just looked through the new Screwfix catalogue which will take us past the start of the 17th edition and unless I'm mistaken only the Wylex Consumer Unit will comply, to use any of the other brands will require RCBO's which are not available from Screwfix.

Screwfix may like to get some advice from an Electrician before preparing the next Catalogue!

Electricians don't buy that * from Screwfix.

It's for DIYers and Jacks. ;)

but why not talk in another forum then....
I buy loads from s/f and only got into this forum because of doing so...
not because I was randomly looking for a forum to join..

    Which one is it ?

All those consumer units might comply ,it just depends on the circumstances

    Well that's you yogi.

I personally found the forum on google long before I bought anything.

Probably because I prefer to get better quality stuff for cheaper, from a real electrical wholesaler. ;)

They don't have Wylex to be fair. It's MK, Crabtree or own brand.

The Crabtree "17th edition" are about 65 squid.

    Good for you yogi. :)

The rep at my wholesaler will also send anything to my house/site the next day. By 8.30am if I want it. And will beat any quoted price. :)

What is the current vision of a 17th Edition DB?

6 ways are needed for the main switch and 2 Rcd's..no escaping that..

What are you lads doing with the rest of the ways?

A 20 way min DB is indicative in most scenarios?

Lots of places have old wylex with 1 ring, 1 lights, 1 DHW and 1 cooker.
But to retrofit dual RCD it still can be tight on space.
