    Hi all,

Anyone know if i can put 1 16watt 4 pin in place of a 28watt 4 pin. I think they are the same size bases, just unsure about the control gear compatibility. Obviously i can try this out but thought i'd ask before buying new bulbs.

    Thanks.

The light output from a 'tube' is proportional to its length. Therefore a 16W light is shorter than a 28W light. The 'electronics' are there to ionise the gas and for a shorter tube length it is an easier task so your 'electronics' are working less. so long as the electrical connector is compatible then its OK to use lower rated 'tubes'.
