1. I am looking for a site that I can get some free plans on for making furniture, dimensions, drawings etc. Are there any out there? 2. I have lino in the bathroom and floorboards underneath. I am wanting to tile it with some mosaic tiles. Can I tile on top of the existing lino or does it have to be removed, if so what do I need as a surface to tile on? 3. If I go for a laminated floor in the bathroom instead is there any that will withstand water when we use the bath. The floor gets wet sometimes but I don't want it curling up. Is there such a thing as waterproof laminated flooring? 4. In the bathroom we have a large cabinet with plain doors. I want to put some mirrors on the doors, what's the best way to stick them on? Someone mentioned if I use silicone it will show through, is that correct? 5. And finally, we have just had a UPVC door and frame fitted on the front of the house. Now earlier in the week when we had high winds it was howling like mad. As I am in a HA house it will take ages to get someone out so is thee anything I can do? It all looks sealed as far as I can see but there is a small piece of silicone coming off the window in the door. Thanks for the help, I am a complete novice so go easy on me guys, layman's terms preferred Regards Roy
re q1= if you look on the other area's upon this forum there are quite a few postings of web addresses. re=q2 the lino HAS to go, and a marine ply is best to cover the floor boards, 9.5mm and above in thickness (12.5mm is best though...(note it is not cheap!)and then obtain an aditive from a tile supplier for mixing into the tile adhesive .... re q3= basically forget laminated flooring in a "WET" area. re q4= make sure the hinges are man enough for the extra weight firstly, and you could make up a frame to house the mirrors, or as an alternative you could try the mirror silicone that is available. re q5 im not sure.. upvc is not my thing im afraid...gimme lumber anyday...sorry, hope the remaining answers help though... regards matt
1.. http://www.absolutelyfreeplans.com/ 2.. Wolf 3.. Wolf 4.. Wolf 5.. Was the door locked? ie. handle raised If it was try pushing on the outside of the door at the top and bottom. If the door gives; check your catches. If they're ok door's probably too small for the frame.
re Q2 & Q3... B&Q Warehouse sell a bathroom grade 'click-together' flooring. The version I have got looks like ceramic tiles. They do a slate effect as well. Mine has been down for over a year, and no problems yet..
i take it you have not got teenagers jack, mine seem to have gone from not wanting to use the bath/shower to being in there constantly, leaving the floor absolutely swimming in water......
