9mm or 12.mm for MF ceiling?

    I've installed the framework and in the past used 9mm as it is lighter and easier to handle.

    Do you think there is much acoustic merit to using 12.5mm? I'll be putting Knauf sound insulation between frame and old ceiling.

    Thoughts welcome :)

    Depends on the centres, but in all cases forget about 9mm on a ceiling. Use blue soundbloc plasterboard or opt for 15mm thick regular ones if you want it denser.

    Hire a board lifter. £30 a day or £55 ish for a week as makes job easy and safer

    9mm snap too easier and are often harder to work with as bendy.
