Anyone of you joined this scheme to get funding for fuel switching of £400 plus.
    info at www. a1-boilers.co.uk
If so is it worth the time ?
and as the cheque is paid to the installer do you then give it to customer ?

No, not unless you're a BIG boy. At least you used to have to buy from Plumb Center (IIRC) and that's where you lost out.

MH, the scheme is ok for any size business, we have used it every time we do a fuel switch, once registered its pretty straightforward, the prices for materials are ok, and on completion the cheque comes fairly quickly, used to be about 10-14 days but slower recently.

Sorry MH, the cheque is paid to you so you just let the customer know you are going to get it, we usually just give them a lower price and tell them we will be receiving additional funding from the scheme.
and like I say its easy to use.

do you tell the customer to say it was the funding that swung em to having it done ?? in the rules from what I read.
do you keep all the money and just say you've lowered the quote (by how much roughly)?
if so its handy dosh for nought eh !!

Mh, no you dont have to say the funding swung it,and it dosent ask on the form either, just customer name & address etc, we normally give a price to the customer and then tell them, they only have to pay x amount of it as we will get a grant from the scheme, so even if you are a couple of hundred pounds dearer than some one else, you still get the work as the customer is still paying out less, the balance being made up from funding.

Ive never had a site visit or amy other visit, you fill your part of the form in and the customer fills theirs in, you both send them back, and they may phone the customer to ask if the details on the form are correct ie its storage heaters etc, thats it
