Hi, can anyone help me out here?... I want to add a second 2 gang socket in my garage (see attached pic).

Currently there is only one 2 gang in there. The garage is on a separate fuse on the RCD unit. The existing socket has already been spurred off to supply power to a fused light switch which is connected to an outside security light. Can I spur off the existing socket to add another, whilst still keeping the light connected? The existing socket has our boiler permanently plugged into it, whilst the new socket will have garage roller doors permanently plugged in.

    Thanks :)

If the existing socket is on a radial circuit with a 16 or 20amp circuit breaker yes you can.

Does the reg of only 1 socket or FCU spur per socket apply here?

P.S. Asking the question to be told as I'm not sure, for my own interest.

If it's a radial circuit spurs don't come into it John, spurs are only applicable to ring final circuits.

Mine's a radial circuit on a 16amp circuit breaker - so looks like I'm good to go! Cheers.
