We have just moved into a new house and we are looking to lay a floating engineered flooring. In the hall there is a mix of old parquet flooring and tiles (the concrete bas they are on is 22mm below the floor level) the rest of the house has concrete flooring which is the same level as the parquet.... I hope this makes sense.

I have been advised to remove the old parquet and bitumen adhesive (and tiles).... fine but a hell of a job. How would you recommend bringing the floor up to level which would be 22mm... should I lay 22mm chipboard flooring and screw it down to the concrete?
