Hi All, Hope you can help. I’m getting lost with all the options for a new Kitchen tap. We had a Wickes kitchen installed and unfortunately we had a rubbish tap installed with it. It started leaking shortly after 5yr warranty passed, and has started leaking again, less than 2 after I replaced the ceramic cartridges etc. The previous Kitchen tap was perfect - It did not leak for over 20yrs, since we moved in. Please can I pick your brain on taps that are good quality, and are pretty much 'fit and forget' items one would hope for. The type of taps we are after is: 0. Quality Components - Does not leak after few years, Moving part are reliable as well etc. 1. Monobloc Mixer tap 2. Suitable for 1 tap hole 3. Suitable for high pressure water system 5. 180 Degrees swivel Spout at least. 6. Parts - Standard - So can service if ever needed, after many years trouble free service. 7. Cost - Happy to pay the premium, to avoid this re-occuing hassle! PS: My old tap: My experience: Leaks. Flimsy. After 7 years, water leaking out from base of tap, from lever, and well as from spout. It also makes whining noises at certain pressures etc. https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Kumai-M ... e/p/173898
Franke, grohe, hamsgrohe are all quality tap brand, but if u live in a hard water area then it doesn’t matter the ceramic cartridges will likely leak in time
