I want to put up a cast-iron sign on the fence outside. It is going on a wooden fence and the sign has holes in it for fixings.

What do I use to fix this through the wood so nobody can unscrew it from the public side but I can from inside the gate, if that makes sense? Thank you

coach bolts like these would be fine. If you can find stainless steel ones, then all the better. Just go by the diameter of the fixing holes on your sign and the thickness of the fence/sign. Use some penny washers on the back

If it’s an area where the wood is thin, cut a piece of ply or similar to go behind, but on the other side of the fence to beef it up.

I think the troll fell off of a skirting board ladder and landed on its head!
