Any experience with vacuum panel insulation for over-slab insulation?

Currently have uninsulated solid concrete floors.

Interested in something like OPTIM-R, at 20mm this gets U value of 0.35.

Would mean chipping out screed, self-levelling compound, then the boards and a plywood floating floor.

Anyway experience with similar projects, and most particularly the cost?

Sorry to hi jack this but you posted way back in 2007 about protecting your drive from a grab truck, did it work as I am about to need to do the same?

Have you considered geocell beads, you won't need a membrane and the screed is lime based so it can breath.

Its very common in France, I did it and the whole house is warm and dry.

The whole building industry needs a massive shakeup in the UK. Insulation industry is cladding, wrapping and making homes dangerous and unhealthy. Stick to products that will let your house breath naturally or you'll suddenly end up with damp and condensation.
