I want to do some groove work on some wood and wonder whether these are worth the money or whether I should just buy a router - Help
Buy the Router. I'm hobby/DIY and recomend the Ferm Unit for this type of work, for more intense use it may be worth getting a stronger machine. About six months ago I bought mine and the 30 piece bit set and I have used it all over the place, from boring rounding over of shelves to door furniture. Made a plain MDF cupboard look like t+G cladding, cut hinge holes for kitchen cupboards.... Made my own jigs too - nearly as much fun as using the router itself.......
Yes I have used them, they are quite handy to have I recommend buying a set of them as opposed to just the one.
multi-angles bits are excellent for mortice locks ect. after you've bored out for the lock use ur multi angle bit to smooth out the mortise instead of a chisel-thats what i use for anyway. they dont stay sharp for long though.

The easiest way to make the hinge holes is with a hinge cutter of the correct diameter. They are purpose made for this job & come in the correct diameters for the hinges used. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/cat.jsp;jsessionid=TZXLILJO20MXLCJO2C4CJ0Q?ts=76486&pId=12&cId=100199 The multi angled drills make morticing for a lock or drilling round corners for pipes or cables a breeze. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/cat.jsp?cId=101690&ts=76649
