Appliance drain nozzle after sink trap?

New kitchen, and the fitter has used some complicated trap for the sink where the dishwasher drains into the trap through a nozzle. Trouble is, this is hellish noisy - it seems to act like a megaphone. I'm going to re-plumb the sink with a McAlpine space saver kit to free up some space in the cupboard, and either put another separate P trap in for the appliance - or a nozzle on a T after the trap. Since the sink drains through an open ended pipe into an gully outside (rather than into a soil pipe), is there any reason not to do the latter?

The appliance waste water should go through a trap ,not join the waste pipe after the trap.
