Aquapanel V Ply?

I've got to put down a new floor in my kitchen to lay tiles on. I read somewhere in this forum that in some circumstances Aquapanel can be more rigid than Ply, and that 12mm Aqua = 18mm Ply. Would people agree that this is generally a better solution?

When you say "put down a new floor" do you mean straight onto the joists? If so then 18-25mm ply will be your best bet.

If you are just overboarding softwood or chipboard then Aquapanel set in tile adhesive and screwed to the boarding will give a more rigid floor than the equivilant thickness of ply.
