Attaching lath to concrete lintel

    Hi

    I hope you can help

    I am 'lime cementing' my fireplace to allow for a wood burner to be installed. I will attach diamond lath to the brick work however the concrete lintel at the top has a crack in it so I am reluctant to put any further stress on it by drilling in screws to hold the lath on.

    Can anyone recommend a way of attaching the lath or another approach altogether?

    Do I need the lath on the lintel?

    If it is so shot that it wont take a few drilled holes, get it changed now and save problems later.

    Wood burners should be banned,,,use electric or Gas like the rest of us.

    why don't you dot and dab a fireline plaster board to the underside and render the walls. I wouldn't bother with the lime
