I'm putting up a picket fence in my garden, I've already set the 75mmx75mm fence posts, I now need to attach the rail to the posts.
The rails are 75x47mm and approx 4m long, would an 85mm decking screw be long enough to attach the rail to the post? (through the 47mm dimension obviously, so approx 40mm of screw in to the post)

4m rails will sag unless they're long enough for two bays in which case I would alternate/stagger the joints between the rails.

If they're not for two bays you will need to support the bottom rail mid way between posts. The pales will then hold the top rail up.
