Building a large solid oak dining table.

I’m going to use OIL; however I can’t decide which one to use.

I hear some make your table smell like chip fat and some offer more heat and stain resistance than others.

Anyone got advice on finishing oils?

    Danish Oil (rustins)for me.

One coat a day for a week, one coat a week for a month then topup as required. Don't apply too much and make sure you wipe off all excess within 10mins otherwise it will dry sticky. Rub down between coats with a grey Scotchbrite pad, avoid using wirewool on oak. Use a fresh tin as it goes off once opened
