    Example

Say gu10 down lights in lounge, you cost to lift flooring above to install correctly

Cowboy; costs no intention of lifting flooring above, but notch plaster board ceiling to pass cables

    Who’s getting the job?

  2. What about solid sheet flooring u/s Do you lift them!

What about a tiled bathroom above? Or laminate flooring that will never go back the same way it was before?

It would never be possible to declare ceilings as a safe zone for one simple reason - it is the one place in a room that is almost guaranteed to be riddle with nails and/or screws - when it is eventually overboarded.

I have often wondered if a void less than 100mm high would be considered a prohibited space through which to run cables.

Unless cables are in steel conduit, then you could consider anywhere else as a possible risk by damage, as a result of nail, screws etc, even in the permitted areas..
