You could use a normally closed contactor feeding a 16a or 32a industrial plug with a male end - then when power goes contactor kicks in avoiding any back feeding either way..

Actually wouldn't really work cos you would have to isolate the contactor circuit otherwise when you power the gen it would open the contactor.

Just thinking out loud:)
