banging water pipe ?

    Hi
    I have a saniflo system that when the cistern is filling and stops there is a loud bang in the water feed pipe, i think its caused by the pressure of which it fills then stops ? So to control the speed in which it fills i turn the screw in the isolator valve but it takes a while to fill.

    What is the best way to stop the noise and let the cistern fill quickly?

    Clip the feed pipe securely and if it still bangs fit a shock arrestor.

    If this has just started happening on an old installation then it could just be the washer on the inlet valve.

    is the restrictor fitted on the inlet valve ?? this will slow the fill and stop the banging as it wont stop abruptly
