After a few months, the diverter on a Swirl bath shower mixer tap is failing (28552). I'm wary of spending more on a brand name (Bristan) to experience similar issues. SWMBO likes the victorian style mixer taps which invariably use a lever to switch between bath/shower, I'm not fussed... My question is whether the lever type diverter is more/less reliable than the pull-up type? Hansgrohe seem to have a decent reputation, but don't do vintage style taps. Thanks.
lever where really good but preferences has changed so have been pushed out by button pull/push, on higher brands no doubt- they are reliable but as in your situation they likely to fail, I have installed cheap one from wickes, regretted after 10-11 mouths, all other (higher) brands installing for around 15 years and had no issues with them - touch wood
Thanks, I've just pulled the trigger on a Bristan 1901. Amazon were doing a good price (£80 less than Toolstation, but still not cheap) and interest free. Hopefully this will last...
