    Hi

Just adding a bathroom fan to my house but the wiring is only a feed from the lights , so no perm live .

Is there anyway that the timer can work without a perm live ?

Timer won't work as there is no supply to keep the timer running when the light has gone off. Eighter buy a fan without a timer or put a link in the fan between the live & timer connection then the fan will go off when you put the light off.

Have you got access to the lighting circuit, ie. is the bathroom upstairs with a loft above bathroom ?

If yes, then relatively easy to pick up a new supply for the fan, use 3 core and earth cable
Is a fan isolator switch fitted ?
This will need to switch all 3 cores on/off for maintenance purposes (also regs but then ?????)
