Battery transport plugs

Hi
Just bought a Yuasa ybx5012 battery from Tanya batteries to replace the original battery on my corsa 2010. New battery came today in a box saying “open immediately outside”, did that and there were further instructions to remove the transport bungs to prevent build up of pressure. There is a red bung on the positive side and a black bung on the negative side, the label is on the positive side and shows the red bung-it came out easy. Not sure if the black one on the other side should be removed, did they buy it seems reluctant to come out and also noticed the middle recess is smaller-screwdriver fits in the red one but not in the black. I’ve emailed Tanya batteries for advice however won’t get an answer until Monday at earliest. Anyone on here had the same battery or similar and know. Google search shows results saying both sides should be removed generally for car batteries or the side with the breather pipe should be removed, not sure if there is one on corsa d 1.2 eco flex-1st battery change.IMG_8391.jpeg

Hi,

I've changed a few batteries and never noticed two 'transit' plugs. They're basically plugs for the vent and only really get used when installed in the boot of a car... Should have a tube attached to direct any gases down and out of the interior but I've seen plenty missing / people couldn't be bothered to fit!

For a corsa I guess it goes under the bonnet in the corner of the engine bay. Go ahead and install it, you've done everything right so far.

Earth (black) second

If you weren't already aware. There may be a small spark, nothing to worry about it's just the connection being made.
