Hello everyone,
We're currently insulating the external-facing internal walls of our old Victorian house and are trying to address cold bridging issues, particularly with the bay window wall.
We'll use 60mm Steico wood fibre boards, Breasthaplasta Thermal plaster at 2.5 cm, and Contiga Solido tape around the windows and joists for insulation.
In preparation for installing the Steico thermal fibre boards, I have patched the wall holes with NHL2 lime plaster and am now adding a layer of Breasthaplasta Thermal plaster.
We have had new windows installed, and although the window installer has applied expanding foam around the frame, there is still a large gap between the window and the wall.
I have a question regarding filling the gap and would greatly appreciate your insights.
Thanks so much in advance for your time and advice.
Regards, Val

- Would it be okay for me to fill the gap with Breasthaplasta Thermal/insulating plaster to flatten the wall tightly around the window and even out the wall around it before applying the fibreboard?
- If the above is not the best approach, what would be the most effective way to fill the gap around the window?
- The gap between the window and wall (with expanding foam applied)
- The full bay window
- Where I started to fix the gap with insulating plaster (And will continue if this approach is acceptable)
- Example of the fibre boards that will go on top of the undercoat insulating plaster
Thanks so much in advance for your time and advice.
