Hi guys, as I am skint I can hardly afford the Fein FMM250 MultiMaster, would the Bosch PMF 180 E Multi Multifunction Tool (£60) be a reasonable option for a DIY enthusiast or do Fein have a lower budget multi-tool option?

I've been toying with the idea of maybe spending my scrap metal money on a power tool, I like the idea of the Mulitmaster but will I use it all that often?

I'll probably just spend some on booze, women, casino's and then just waste the rest. :)

Save up and get the Fein. I reckon I save an hour every time it comes out of the van. Pipes hard against a wall, cut-outs in skirting and floors, removing grout from tiles, etc, etc. True it's not out every day, but when it is there is NO OTHER TOOL for the job ;)

I bought a Fein FMQ250 after reading good reports about it on here.
I was trying to take a section out of a fixed skirting board & my jigsaw was chewing it up like a rabid beaver so I bit the bullet & bought one.
I can honestly say I use it on most jobs now & wonder how I managed without it.
It's uses are limitedless, well worth the money

i doubt that to be the case??? no way b&q R going to sell Bosch PMF 180E for £60 (less a 30% discount)???

I know because I've just bought one.

No brainer really, the Fein is £130-£200 and for £50.00 you get basicly the same tool although the Fein will be built better.

The Bosch blades are alot cheaper than the Fein as well

I have the bosch got the corded because I figured it wouldn't be a dailly use item. It is well worth the dosh although the blades don't last a great time.

TJ- get yourself the grout removal bit, it's maybe the best thing these tools can offer (although every day you have one you do wonder how/why you managed without). We (me&partner) have the corded fein and the cordless bosch, easier and quicker to use the bosch, but the fein can be used for hours.

It seems strange if Screwfix have blocked the link, after all Screwfix and B&Q are both owned by the same parent company.

Yes pav go to B&Q, when I went in they were dispayed at the old price of £79.99 but they will scan at the new lower price.

Cheapest place I've found for accessarys are *. I ordered the tiling set yesterday afternoon and its just arrived.
