Im just flooring my attic currently and almost half way.

I’m using 5x50 screws and they are good but when screwing down ends of clipboard floors the ends are breaking away.

I stopped screwing down the ends but it’s lifting up a bit so needs done.

Should I just be looking at smaller gauge screws or do you get specialist screws for chipboard that stops it breaking as easy

Are you pre-drilling a clearance hole and countersinking?

  3. How close to the edge of the chipboard?
