Whats the best 500W PIR controlled security light you can buy. Steinel do one at about £50. Are there any others?
Quality, reliability. Money no object. --------------------- I thought we were all supposed to be skint, according to the government..
I´ve a Really nice light in the Stores at a good price Excluding postage, airfare and/or any other promotion
cheers sine. I have thought about the separate PIR option but the application lends itself to integrated units.
So come on. Surely you don't fit the £10 jobbies from B&Q. Well most of the wholesalers are selling the same rubbish, anyway their out in ALL weathers, are they?..
'Well most of the wholesalers are selling the same rubbish' I agree. Thats why I was asking the question in the first place. Denmans do one at about £13 then the next up is the Steinel at nearly £50.
Hello Andy I fitted about 8 or 9 of the Steinel Floods , very well made like chalk and cheese with the B&Q type models , Only odd thing , you can`t link another Light to them (Slave) if you wanted to ? i normally fit Friedland which are a pretty good middle of the road Flood about £15 each + Vat Lucky
i like the 1s from demons . i don't know the make but it has a red led in the pir . i`ve fitted loads of them any 1 figured out what the notches r for on the brackets?
Cheers for the advice, help and ideas. Appreciated. But whats all this about? 'Strange question from such a rude and arrogant person.'
I think its worth recommending the GJD sensors which are linked back to a central controller with low voltage cable. The sensor is behind an opaque front cover so don't have the standard look of PIR. http://www.diy-alarms.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?productsid=713
Most of the inexpensive die cast aluminium type fall to bits after a few years use in costal regions , although I have noted that the likes of Thorn tend to last longer. Any flood light I fit would preferably be plastic if possible, corrosion is a major factor concerning longevity
