Best substrate for installing porcelain tiles into wetroom?

Hi! We're installing a wetroom in our house, and our tiler normally uses Hardibacker boards, however I've been told by another source that Wedi Board is better. Our floor is timber and our walls are a mixture of timber and brick, so we're concerned about the risk of tiles cracking with the movement in the timber.

Would appreciate your advice on whether we should use Wedi Board or Hardibacker or something else.

    Thanks!

If you go with the product your tiler normally uses, then the risk is on him if things don't work out.
If you persuade (coerce) your tiler to use a product that you want, then the risk is on you if things don't work out.
    Pick you poison. o_O
