    Hi again people,

I'm having some engineered oak flooring put down soon. The floor underneath in flat concrete.

It there a top notch underlay you would recommend ?

I use the natural fibre mats because they're more environmentally friendly and they do an excellent job. I studiously avoid the plastic ones.

What about the ones made up of a foam (just like the multi coloured foam you get in underlay for carpet) but with a silver backing on it?

Is that classed as non-recyclable but still a good product?

    Cheers

You firstly need to make sure that the concrete floor has no damp coming through. I would use a damp proof type membrane with a foam overlay (like in a property I own) You could also contact a hardwood floor specialist who do this all the time. Kevin
