So while we were fully convinced that we would go with a Howdens kitchen, we got roped into a 70% off kitchen deal with Betta Living. Visited a few showrooms in Lakeside and we were very intrigued by the quality of design. The sales guy did the usual measure up and design. It was a £20k kitchen substantially reduced and the quality seemed good. However, there are some mixed reviews about the fitters. I don't know whether to go for a local fitter or their fitters. I don't even know if they sub-contract the fitting or is it actually them. It seemed a bit odd that they call themselves the luxury brand but guarantee the fitting costing £3k for only 1 year. Does anyone know which fitter they use and share any experiences/recommendation. We are based in Bexley (DA5)
I own a kitchen company my self. The £3k quote for fitting they've given is most likely got 60% charges of there own. Best thing for you to do would be is go direct onto ratedpeople.com or mybuilder.com and look for a local fitter and get a quote. Most likely 95% of the time all kitchen fitters etc... are all sub contractors
Thank Terry. I spoke to a few fitters and what is scary is they are saying ... oh we haven't heard of betta living, so i need to check before we can agree. i thought a cabinet is a cabinet, which begs the question, could i not assemble it myself and get a fitter to install it? So far a part assembled quote is £300 cheaper.
Most base units/cabinets come already assembled unless its budget stuff. There isn't any money to save by having flat pack units unless it's a true DIY job and even then, it can be minimal.
