When cutting multiple birds mouth cuts in rafters is there an easiest way than using a circular saw and finishing with a handsaw....also is there way of doing it with a portable band saw or is there some tool out there that is like a jig saw with a band saw blade.

Shame on you both, who doesn’t get the feeling of a job well done after framing a traditional roof with hand tools

If I’ve got a lot to do, I’ll batch them up and use a two stage cut with a sliding compound mitre saw using the depth stop on each cut. You can cut four rafters at the same time so really quick and accurate once you’re set up.
