glancing through this months ecn, noted a double page question and answer advert for Kidde Fyrnetics smoke, heat & co alarms

Q Do I have to have a CPC in the cable because the alarm units are class ii (double insulated ) and not metal?

Rex Taylor of Kidde Fyrrnetics answered  --- Yes. We believe a CPC is required to satisfy the fault protection requirements on the cable and to ensure that the automatic disconnection times are met

    Oh dear !:(
