Forgive me for being stupid lol

Not knowing much about boilers and central heating systems I was wondering if someone could help me out with a question I have regarding the heat exchanger in a boiler.

I am making a rocket stove to heat a radiator in my wooden man cave, the stove will be located outside and I have a heat exchanger from a working boiler, I'm going to try and use thermosyphoning to move the water around the system/radiator.

So my question is does the heat exchanger have a one way system for water in and water out or would I have to use a check valve for this and/or a small pump for a continuous stream of water

I would appreciate any help anyone could give me
