Got a boiler quote today. To replace an Ariston Microgenus.

Ideal Logic 30 + to be installed in place of existing boiler. In first floor airing cupboard. New vertical flue be installed with new flashing kit. With new Lyric Thermostat.

Install new condense pump and pipe in to existing soil stack.

    Manually flush system

    Total including Vat £2998

    Thoughts?

    Sounds expensive.

The boiler is sub £800.00 to buy.

Does seem a tad expensive unless answering yes to the below questions.

Does it include a magnetic filter?
Does the gas pipe need upgrading.
Is the condensate a nightmare to fit?
    Are flue extensions required?
Is a roofer doing the flashing?
Are chemicals being used (should be)?
Flushing can also take a bit time. A manual flush could mean anything.

    Would certainly get another quote.

    Y. Expensive. say 2 days work - £500 max, boiler plus a bit of margin say £1K incidentals £200 (condense pump is only about £50). assuming no major pipework changes shouldn't be over £2K even with VAT, unless there are a load of necessary add-ons..

Already have a magnaclean installed. If I want the ten year warranty I have to use their filter.

It does seem really expensive. Got the guy to quote last year. But it got pushed back due to other commitments. Over 300 more expensive apparently due to increase in labour costs and parts going up . Plumber is a two Man band.
